DIRECTOR

Emily’s work as a director has been described as "enthusiastically accessible".  Her empathy permeates into everything she does, holding space for everyone to be themselves and comes into the work with no agenda for anyone to adhere to.  Emily’s work stems from searching for the root of humanity.  Taking a look at larger systemic structures- to focus in on the people living day to day within these circumstances. 

Her work thrives in collaboration with communication always at the forefront.  She loves discussing projects with her assistants, stage managers, designers, and actors.  She knows that the world expands far beyond her limited perception and works tirelessly to always appreciate multiple points of view while staying true to her own voice.  It has been said that Emily’s work could, “make an actor out of anyone”.

A passion of hers is to hone and cultivate people’s voices and to help them discover the words for what they’re feeling.  She brings the audience along on a journey that ends with them asking similar questions and thoughts that she has had throughout the process.  One that ultimately leads people to actively listen to the world around them, attempting to bring empathy and understanding to cultivate inclusivity and accessibility.
